On December 16, 2010 a symposium on the current best practices in entrepreneurial development programs will be held at the Pacific Guardian Center, Ground Floor Conference Room, Makai Tower from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm, Pau Hana to follow.

The purpose of the symposium is to allow participants from Hawaii’s state and local government, the technology industry, technology investment organizations, and other organizations interested in supporting the development of a viable technology sector to learn from the experiences of other states that have implemented successful entrepreneurial development programs.

Program

State Supported Entrepreneurial Development Programs: A Best Practices Symposium

2:45 pm - Registration
3:00 pm - Introduction & Welcome
3:15 pm - Presentation by Entrepreneurial Development Programs
4:00 pm - Best Practices Panel Discussion
5:00 pm - Pau Hana

Each Entrepreneurial Development Program will provide a 15 minute overview, followed by a moderated panel discussion on best practices. Topics covered include Metrics, Funding Structure, University Partnership, Success Stories etc.

 

Speakers

The symposium will feature three speakers presenting their state’s model of entrepreneurial development assistance and discussing the features that make their program a success, their experiences implementing the programs, and lessons learned from operating the programs. The symposium is meant to be educational and informative and ample time will be provided for questions from the audience. The states represented and their representatives are:

Tom Walker, President and CEO - i2E, Inc., Oklahoma
Joni Cobb, President and CEO - Kansas Pipeline, Kansas

Parking will not be validated. Parking rates at PGC is $8/hour
Alternative municipal parking is recommended at Harbour Court or Ali'i Place

Registration is $25, which includes Pau Hana.

On-site registration is $30 and is subject to space available.
